Firecracker is an all-volunteer non-profit, charitable organization, operating successfully for the past 39 years. Their success is due to the dedication of the many volunteers and the generous support of our sponsors and contributors, such as the DAVID AND MARY CHOW FOUNDATION.

Firecracker mission is to promote health and fitness, education, cultural awareness and community involvement by organizing athletic and community programs and events.

Firecracker event demonstrates its mission by their commitment to support education, mentoring young leadership skills, and giving back to the community. The event is designed for participants’ enjoyment activities i.e. walkers, runners, and cyclist. The funds raised from sponsors and registrations are contributed back to the community, i.e. support local elementary schools, community organizations; including Chinatown Service Center, Chinatown Senior Citizens Service Center, Alpine Recreation Center, Confucius Language School, Chinese Historical Society of Southern California, Friends of the Chinatown Library and many more.

Because of community sponsors and participants, Firecracker has donated over $500,000 (half a million) back to the community.
